Photography – Group Exhibition

2025年4月2日（水）～7日（月）まで、横浜市民ギャラリーあざみ野（アートフォーラムあざみ野）にてグループ展（写真展）に出展させていただきました。
今回はモノクロを中心とした木々の写真7点を展示したのですが、大きめのサイズ（A1、A2）に印刷するのも、マットで額装するのも初めてだったので色々と勉強になりました。
出力・額装に関しては完全にインターネットに依存し、ポスター印刷（印刷紙の選択も可能）、写真用マットの発注（切り抜き加工を含む）、ポスターフレームもネットで手配しました。
個人的には至ってシンプル、かつ整然とした展示でそれはそれで良かったのかなと思っていますが、参加者の皆さんはとても自由な発想で展示されており、本当に楽しい写真展になりました。
また機会があれば、その時はもう少し心を解き放って自由な展示を考えてみたいと思います。
以前の投稿で、「何となく自分の意図も伝わって、相互理解が生まれて、お互いにハッピー」みたいな結果が理想と書きましたが、展示期間中に撮影したときの気持ちや写真に対する想いを伝える機会は少なく、果たしてどのような感想を持ってもらえたのかな、と思いを巡らせています。
一方でごく僅かですが「木の写真が良かったです」というシンプルな感想も頂け、それだけでも十分に心躍らせるご褒美となりました。
当日神戸から展示会に駆けつけてくれた友人は映画「Perfect Days」を思い出した、と後にメッセージを送ってくれました。早速映画を観て、巨匠Wim Wendersの作品に共通項を見出し、監督もなかなか目の付け所がいいねと、上から目線で独り言ちています。
Group Exhibition
From Wednesday, April 2nd, to Monday, April 7th, 2025, I participated in a group exhibition (photography exhibition) held at the Yokohama Civic Art Gallery Azamino (Art Forum Azamino).
This time, I showcased seven photographs of trees, focusing on black-and-white imagery. It was my first experience printing in large sizes (A1, A2) and framing them with mats, so I learned a lot throughout the process.
When it came to printing and framing, I completely relied on the internet. I handled poster printing (with paper selection options), ordered photo mats (including cutout processing), and even arranged poster frames online.
Personally, I found the display to be simple and orderly, which I believe worked well. However, the other participants exhibited their work with such creative freedom that the exhibition turned out to be incredibly fun. If I have another opportunity, I’d like to try a more relaxed and free-style presentation next time.
In a previous post, I mentioned my ideal outcome as something like “somehow, my intention is conveyed, mutual understanding is born, and both parties are happy.” During the exhibition period, I had few opportunities to express the feelings I had while shooting or my thoughts on the photographs. This made me wonder how people perceived my work.
On the other hand, I received some simple feedback such as “I liked the tree photos,” which was already rewarding and heartwarming for me.
A friend who came all the way from Kobe to visit the exhibition later sent me a message saying it reminded them of the film “Perfect Days.” I watched the movie immediately and found common ground with Wim Wenders’ masterpiece. I couldn’t help but feel pleased with the director’s keen observation—albeit speaking from a slightly pompous perspective. 🙂
